🧩 Module

Each individual step in your scenario is a module. It represents an action in a specific app (e.g., "Get new emails from Gmail" or "Post a tweet").

This is the first module in a scenario. It's the event that kicks everything off (e.g., "When a new file is added to Google Drive...").

Your First Automation: Auto-Post Your Blog to Social Media

Let's build something genuinely useful. We'll create a scenario that automatically takes your newly published blog post and shares it on Twitter (or any other social media platform).

🎯 The Goal:

When you publish a new article on your blog, a tweet is automatically sent out with the title and a link.

Set Up the Trigger Module (The RSS Feed)

Most blogging platforms automatically generate an "RSS feed"—a simple, live-updated list of your latest posts. This is the perfect trigger.

In your Make.com dashboard, create a new Scenario.

Click the big plus button and search for the "RSS" module.
3.
Select the trigger "Watch RSS feed items."

Action:

You'll need to find your website's RSS feed URL. It's often yourwebsite.com/feed or yourwebsite.com/rss.xml. Paste this URL into the RSS module. Make will now check this feed for new items on a schedule.

Add the Action Module (Twitter)

Now we tell Make what to do when it finds a new blog post.

Click the small plus icon that appears next to your RSS module.

Search for "Twitter" (or LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and select it.

Choose the action "Create a Tweet."

Action:

You'll need to connect your Twitter account to Make. It's a simple, secure process.

Map the Data (The Magic Moment)

This is where you connect the information from your blog post to the tweet.

1.
In the "Status" field of the Twitter module, you can now map the data from the RSS module.
2.
Your Text: Write something like: "New Post: ".

Mapping: Click on the "Title" field from the RSS feed data that appears in the mapping box. Then add a space and click on the "Link" field.

Your final status might look like this:

New Post: [Title from RSS] [Link from RSS]

Make will now dynamically insert the title and link of your new blog post into the tweet.

Schedule and Activate

At the bottom of the screen, you can set how often you want this scenario to run (e.g., every 15 minutes).
2.
Once you're ready, toggle the switch at the bottom left from "OFF" to "ON".

That's it. Your automation is now live.
